Dear Diary,
It has been ten years since the trial and Jem broke his arm. I am nineteen years old and I am in law school. I just started and I live on campus. I wanted to be like Atticus, who is getting pretty old and has retired. After the trial I wanted to be the one to defend a black man to the best of my ability and have him be innocent. Dill and I are dating and he visits every once in a while. He still wants to get married after all of these years. I have never been to much of a lady and never liked dresses. I didn't want to stay home and let Dill make all the money, I want to do my part. Jem got married last year and will be a father soon. When im old enough I want to marry Dill and graduate and be a lawyer exactly like Atticus. I want to have a few kids and just be a good role model like Atticus has been for Jem and I. I call Atticus a few times a week and I ask him about Boo. No body has been seen taken out so he's still in there somewhere. Dill was so jealous that summer he returned and I told him I hung out with Boo. To this day Dill still wants to see him.

Dear Scout,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your doing well in law school. I think it's great that you are following in Atticus' footsteps. I can't wait to see you again soon. I think it's funny that Dill still wants to see Boo, just like me. Tell Dill I said Hi.
Love, Jem
